Susan K. McConn

Susan K. McConn is an Immigration Attorney based in Houston, Texas, specializing in employment-based petitions, employer compliance with Forms I-9 and E-Verify, family-based petitions, and naturalization applications.

Susan has extensive experience counseling corporate clients through the stages of immigration sponsorship, including temporary work visas (H-1B’s, H-1B1's, H-3's, L-1’s, TN’s, O-1’s), U.S. Outer Continental Shelf Letters of Determination and Exemptions, green card petitions (Multi-National Managers/Executives, Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Researchers, National Interest Waivers, Schedule A Group II Exceptional Ability, and PERM Labor Certification), and naturalization to U.S. citizenship. 

Susan has managed comprehensive audits of Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance practices for small (<100 employees) and large (40,000+ employees) corporate clients, including merger and acquisition analysis. She has represented clients in investigations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), preparing responses to Notices of Inspection and overseeing negotiations with ICE officers to reduce fines and sanctions.

Susan is a frequent speaker, author and trainer on immigration, Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance issues. She has drafted briefs for submission to the Attorney General of Texas and has testified before the Texas State Legislature on proposed laws affecting immigrants and the business community. 

Susan graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Latin American Studies. She earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Susan is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is a founding member of the State Bar of Texas Section on Immigration and Nationality Law.
